Training Officer - Report. Referee Training course will commence on Monday 13th September at Cheam High School; 7.30 start. The new fee will be £37. The new fee will include the Surrey County registration fee. This will prevent any problems on the night of the exam i.e. Trainees forgetting to bring along the appropriate amount of money they may need.
On Wednesday 15th September, an I.S.T. session will be held at Motspur Park. So far 155 people have said they will attend. Opinions were asked for regarding SCRATOC holding three I.S.T. Sessions. For recently qualified Referees, Referees under the age of 18 and Referees recently promoted from 3 to 2 and 2 to 1. The question also arose as to when these should take place. After much debate it was decided that they were a good idea and that September would be appropriate for the under 18s and February or March for the remainder. R.A. Delegate - Report. The ordinary and Annual General meetings were held on the 24th May 1999 when officers were re-elected and thanks given for services carried out. Request made by Surrey F.A. for person able to assist in forming web site activities- (on a voluntary basis). If any Society member is able to help please let me know. Supplies Officer. Still in search of a suitcase, any offers? Has a supply of the L.O.A.F. selling at only £2.00. As usual plenty of stock. Magazine Editor. A total sum of 90 Touchlines are being sent out. Concern was expressed as to lack of 'copy'. Found it difficult to fill pages, the Chairman backed David's plea for more 'copy'. Lost only one advert but gained two more. Brought along three magazines from other Societies for members to read through.
After an interval of ten minutes the Chairman gave the floor to Peter Watson who talked about recent law amendments. He went on to clarify certain aspects, and gave examples of problems that may arise. This was followed by a talk from John Martin on the role of the 4th official. Other Business. John Kasey made a request for 4th Officials to officiate at the Wimbledon reserve team games. These are held every fortnight commencing on the 22nd September. First game Wimbledon v West Ham. Peter Rogers informed us that referee's shirts with new embroidered badge are now available from the R.A. at a cost of £35. David Churchley thanked everyone who sponsored him for his walk to raise money for the Asthma Research Campaign. David raised £160. The Chairman reminded members that the Surrey Referees Association County Committee is holding a meeting of Society Chairman and R. & R. Officers at Fetcham Park United F.C. on Thursday 30th September 1999 (K/O. 7.45pm). SABC Clubs for young people are looking for referees. Tel: 01372 377221/2 Fax: 01372 377223.
