* Redhill won the Annual County RA Quiz on the Laws of the Game hosted by Guildford Society on Wednesday, 3 November. Croydon were Runners-up with Guildford the proud winners of the Wooden Spoon. Chris Frodsham (Wimbledon) won the Wesley Puttock Trophy for the highest individual score. Unfortunately, 3 Societies failed to arrive.

* SCRATOC is working hard at proposals to introduce a "Trainee" classification of referee for those who have just passed the exam but have yet to complete 6 games as a referee. Proposals are a refinement of the old Class "3P" system but have addressed the FA's areas of concern over the old scheme. They hope to gain Referees' Committee approval in December so that the scheme might be able to start towards the end of this Season. More information is obtainable from your Society Training Officer.

* The Referees' Committee is resurrecting the Referee Development Scheme with Ian Mitchell (Croydon) and Ray Upton (Redhill) as leaders. The SCFA Referees' Committee is currently looking at who to invite. Ian and Ray are working on a programme for the Group probably starting in February.

* Surrey RA now has a dedicated E-Mail address:
mailto:surreyra@hotmail.com. Discussion will take place as to whether o r not SCRA needs a separate web site from 'our page' kindly provided on the SCFA web site or whether this might be developed further. Watch this space, as they say!
