John Brown has had a request from the Tandridge league looking for young referees.  If anyone is interested please contact him.

Roger Pink mentioned that due to the tragic and untimely death of Chris Burton, Sutton & District League have lost a much respected and valuable member of the Management Committee.  Roger is now searching for new members to join to join the committee, if anyone is interested please contact him.  Roger also expressed his concerns about the various problems that exist within junior football; these leagues include Sutton, Redhill and Wimbledon District.  Teams are regularly being poached by Surrey Intermediate, four so far this season.  Redhill and Wimbledon are both under threat.  A new Sub-Committee is currently being set up to try and deal with the problem.  Sutton District League has suggested to Surrey County that it should be responsible for all promotions and relegation.  Rogers concern is that eventually the whole structure of junior football will change and that there will be only intermediate level.

Norman Miles mentioned that it would be nice if maps were sent out to referees, before a fixture. This would ensure the referee finding the venue in good time before commencement of the match.  Norman has had problems in the past due to inaccurate directions.

Peter Rogers asked for any suggestions as to how we as a society could recruit more members.

After an interval of ten minutes the evening resumed with the annual society quiz, our quizmasters for the evening were Peter Watson and John Martin.
