Magazine Editor.
David has no copy for the next magazine and requires some urgently!

David then announced that he would be standing down from the role of editor and producer of the society magazine at the end of this season. David has been the society editor for the past 10 years. He will not be able to print the magazine for us next season as he is in the act of selling his printing business.
The Chairman raise an immediate vote of thanks to David for the work he has done and Vic Rolland commented that the Sutton Magazine was probably the most professional magazine produced by all the Surrey Societies.

RA Delegates- Report.
Nothing to report as there has been no delegates meeting since the last society meeting.

Any Other Business.
John Brown announced that like David he would be standing down from the role of society secretary at the end of the season.
Mike Taylor asked if there was any 'Job Specification' covering the duties undertaken by committee members as this might help any prospective candidates to decide to step into the role.
John Brown undertook to produce a specification, which he would publish in Touchlines.
Peter Fenn asked why were their double standards covering indiscipline of players at the highest levels of the game compared to the park - a general discussion ensued on this and the matter of how to deal with a fracas. The time proven advice was again strongly recommended, don't get involved - stand back and take notes as if you are in the middle you can't see what's going on behind your back. On the park you are the only eyes you can count on.

After the break we attempted to get a discussion started on the Restructuring of the RA and Vic Rolland gave a run down of the current RA structure to assist members. What has become clear is that very little, if any real change, will take place from this year's conference as the time scale is too tight. Motions to conference have to be placed by the 1
st February.
The major change is the suggestion that the Divisional Executive Committees be taken out altogether (recommendation 8). This is a complex change to handle and needs to be discussed very carefully and council are proposing to conference that recommendations 8 to 24 be left in abeyance pending the outcome of Councils alternative proposals that will be put to the membership at Conference 2002

Meeting closed at 21.45 hrs.
