John Martin:  After the England and Germany game Wembley was sold off to corporate organisations for games.  Surrey was asked to supply the majority of match officials for about 40 games.  John was chosen to officiate at the Radio 5 Live tournament.  John commented on the appalling state of the stadium and the pitch.  The Chairman asked if John would bring along his medal that he received at Wembley to next months meeting.

Charles Jeffrey:  Recently watched a match on TV a couple of weeks ago, Arsenal V Sparta.  In the first half Arsenal played in a blue strip and Sparta in maroon.  In the second half Arsenal came out in a yellow strip.  The referee and one of the goalies were also wearing yellow.  The papers the following day said that the Sparta players were having trouble identifying their own players and that was the reason why changes of kit were made.  The Arsenal web-site said that the reason they changed was because they clashed with the fourth official.  Who's responsibility is it to ensure that football kits do not clash?  As the LOAF only specifies that the goalkeepers should differentiate themselves from the other players the referee and other officials.  John Martin went on to say that indeed there was nothing in the LOAF to say that the two teams had to wear different colours.  Charles has e-mailed Peter Watson on the subject.

David Churchley:  Has a copy of the Woking Warbler Magazine, an article in the magazine gives a scathing account of the conditions at Wembley Stadium and goes on to say that it should be rebuilt.  This article was originally published in October 1960.

John Martin:  Referees that qualify and only referee at little league level, after two years would have to retrain as it is not recognised by County.  Charles Jeffrey then pointed out that in the minutes of the SCRATOC report the SCFA referees committees decision to exclude 11 aside little league football matches to remove the 3t status has been reversed. That in effect means you are active if you referee 11 aside little league.

After an interval of ten minutes the Chairman gave the floor to Tim Brian our guest speaker for the evening.  The topic for the evening was child protection.
