Minutes of meeting which took place on the 8th November 2000 at Sutton Utd. F.C. ground with 23 members present.
The meeting opened with the introduction by the Chairman of Tim Brian our guest speaker for the evening.
Apologies for absence. These were duly recorded as having been made/received from, Peter Watson, Mike Taylor, Phil Smith, Peter Moore and Roger Pink.
Minutes of previous meeting. The details of which have been published within the current issue of the Society magazine were accepted by members present and duly signed by the Chairman.
Matters arising. In answer to David Churchley's question at last months meeting regarding expenses. John Casey mentioned that if ever the need arises and a referee has to bring along a witness to a hearing, they would be entitled to claim expenses for that witness.
Hon-Secretary Report/Correspondence. Very little news this month as everything is in the October issue of Touchlines. Would like to receive more e-mail addresses from members so that a database can be formed for giving and receiving information.
Hon. Treasurer-report. Cash in Bank £1330.00 Cash in hand £ 79.11 Cheques £ 25.00 Cash in Building Society £200.00 Total £1534.11
Membership the same as last month 55 members and 2 associate members.
Training Officers-Report. Class of September due to take exams, hopefully another 100% pass-rate. Next course will commence in January 2001.
Supplies Officers-Report. Mentioned that he was still in need of a larger suitcase. Following this John Martin presented the Supplies Officer with a large suitcase, kindly donated by John's Parents.
Received money from the Treasurer to purchase a new cash-box. Peter Rogers asked if there was a Society badge available to show off to newly qualified referees. The Chairman suggested that if not, was it possible to order one. John Brown is willing to purchase one.
Magazine Editor. Print run has dropped this month due to drop in membership list, down to 90 from 105. 57 members, 14 trainees, dignitaries and advertisers are all included on the list. Have recently lost an advertiser, so if anyone wants to put an advert in please contact me. Thanks for all contributions this month. Have recently received a copy of the RA report (The future of the RA), from David Crick. This will be published in next month's edition of Touchlines and will be the subject of a discussion at a future meeting. Will be looking for more copy for the following month.
RA Delegates-Report. Next meeting is on the 25th November, Peter Fenn and John Kasey will attend.
Other Business. John Brown: Quiz night, 30th November, 7.30pm kick-off at the Perrywood in Redhill. Groups of four people are needed to represent each Society. Volunteers are needed.
Peter Fenn: Made enquiries regarding John Martins invitation to act as an official at Wembley Stadium. Peter pointed out that it was a wonderful achievement.
