The Football Association is moving on 30 October 2000 to 25 Soho Square, London W1D 4FA. Telephone number 020 7402 7151
A County FA Assessor has reported that the goal posts at John Ruskin College are free-standing. Competition involved aware and are dealing but referees need to continue to be vigilant and not only report free-standing goals but refuse to sanction play until they are properly secured. In this instance, the referee played the game and this reflected in the assessment.
Another ground has been discovered locally to have free-standing goal posts - John Ruskin College (used in the Sutton & District League). Be aware!! Powerleague at Norbury IS NOT SANCTIONED - therefore, do NOT officiate. You will be advised if the situation changes.
Powerleague at Wallington is in danger of having its sanction revoked (for alleged maladministration). Watch this space!
The County FA is to be applauded for endeavouring to hold hearings in a timely manner. They have arranged an additional venue in Leatherhead and this is used to hear urgent cases (e.g. match abandonments, assaults, etc). Your co-operation is expected in trying to fit any request to attend into your diary. If you don't attend, the offenders are likely to 'get away with it' and that does no-one any favours.
The County FA is having occasional problems identifying players reported for misconduct because only an initial and surname is provided. Please ensure you ask for and fill in the player's forename and surname together with the correct full name of the clubs and the competition, date of match, etc. I know it is the club's responsibility to identify the player in the long run but this makes things a lot easier for our over-worked administrators.
